Throughout Britain the tourist boards now inspect over 30,000 places to stay, every year, to help you find the ones that suit you best.

Looking for a Hotel?  
Look for the stars. They are given a rating of from one to five Stars. The more Stars, the higher the quality and the greater the range of facilities and level of services provided.

Looking for Guest Accommodation?  
Guesthouses, bed & breakfasts, inns and farmhouses - Look for the Diamonds. Guest Accommodation is rated from one to five Diamonds. The same minimum requirement for facilities and services applies to all Guest Accommodation from one to five Diamonds. Progressively higher levels of quality and customer care must be provided for each of the one to five Diamond ratings.

Gold and Silver awards are awarded to those establishments which not only achieve the overall quality required for their rating, but also reach the highest levels of quality in those specific areas which guests identify as being really important for them.

Looking for a Self Catering holiday home?  
Look for the new Self-Catering Star ratings. The more Stars (from 1 - 5) awarded to an establishment, the higher the levels of quality you can expect. Establishments at higher rating levels also have to meet some additional requirements for facilities.

Looking for a holiday, touring or camping park?  
Look for the Stars. A rating from one to five Stars is awarded, based on the quality of service, cleanliness, environment and facilities provided. The more Stars the higher the standard.

Every classified place to stay has a Fire Certificate, where this is required under the Fire Precautions Act, and all carry Public Liability Insurance. Every Star or Diamond classified place to stay is likely to provide some of the facilities and services of a higher classification.
